Hubble took this picture of the most distant and oldest galaxies ever recorded. (formed about 400-800 million years after the Big-Bang) It took 1 million seconds of exposure time to take the photo.

Impression of how far Hubble can see in the universe.

From here we look into the sky. (shot taken by rover Spirit from Mars)

What we really

NEED TO GET:

Camera adapter for our Nikon D70 digital SLR camera

LPR-filter to block-out those terrible city lights

Flexifocus or motorfocus

Light blue and light yellow color filters

Piggyback mount

OUR EQUIPMENT

As our telescope we use a

     MEADE ETX-105EC with

This is our telescope with Autostar computer controller and the #884 Deluxe field tripod:

When you travel you have to take good care of your telescope We use the original Meade hard case.

We also are proud to own the complete Meade super-plossl 4000 series of eyepieces and the 2-times Barlow. (also in the original aluminum hard case)

Beside these important pieces we also have some computers to our disposal, a Philips web cam with web cam adapter (to fit the telescope), a Nikon D70 Digital SLR camera (still without the necessary mounting adapters, but we are working on that) and a HP850 digital camera. (O yeah, and don't forget the necessary good quality compass and leveler)

UPDATE: We now are the proud owners of a "Full desktop replacement" Laptop. So using astro software and steering the scope is not a issue anymore.

We still need to get some color / nebula / LPR-filters, A Meade UW plossl or Televue Nagler UW eyepiece, A motor focus, dew shield and dew prevention system, a camera-adapter for the Nikon D70 and of course a Coronado Hα-filter to see the sun in its full glory.
